A 30-year-old woman missing for more than two weeks in an Australian rainforest has stumbled out alive after surviving on creek water and small fish.

Mother-of-three Shannon Fraser went missing on September 21 near the remote Josephine Falls in Queensland after becoming disorientated. She was wearing just leggings, a shirt and flip flops.

A banana farmer found her when she stumbled out of the forest.

She is reported to have survived being chased by a crocodile while missing in the rainforest.

She is said to have lost weight and is covered in cuts and bruises, but otherwise is safe and well.

Her mother Deidre Sharrock told News Corp: "She's badly (sun)burnt, she's lost a lot of weight...She's got a lot of infected cuts from fighting the scrub. She told us she just sat in a creek for three days to soothe her cuts and burns.

"It's incredible, it's amazing, we all thought she was dead. Thank God, she's alive."

The Courier-Mail said Fraser told her family that she came face-to-face with a giant cassowary flightless bird and got chased by a two-metre freshwater crocodile.

Her brother Dylan Fraser told the ABC: "She's just a soldier. It's the ultimate survival story."
